Peer-review process

Res Diachronicae employs a rigorous blind peer-review evaluation system carried out by external reviewers who are specialists in the research areas covered by the journal.

In the first instance, the editorial team is responsible for determining whether the article will be sent for evaluation or whether it will be rejected because it does not meet the minimum standards of scientific quality required. If the article passes this first filter, it will be sent to two reviewers who will determine whether or not it is suitable for publication. If discrepancies arise between the two evaluations, a third reviewer will be consulted.

Reviewers may accept the article for publication with minor changes, make their acceptance conditional on major changes being made, or reject the article. If an evaluation is received with major changes, the article will be reviewed again after the application of the appropriate changes. In the latter case, before receiving a definitive answer on its acceptance for publication, the author will have to attach, together with the amended article, a letter specifying the modifications that have been made. The editorial team of Res Diachronicae will take the final decision on the publication of a text.

In the course of the evaluation process and, if necessary, the editing process, the Editorial Committee of Res Diachronicae may ask authors to make specific changes to their works or contact them to clarify aspects of both form and content that may be relevant.
